About us

I – Eva Ludersdorfer – warmly welcome you to the homepage of my still very young breeding kennel for German Shepherds „Von der Vilstalperle“, registered with the SV (and the VDH and FCI) since 2023.

Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember!

In my early childhood it was mostly mixed-breed dogs who were part of our family life. My mother took me to the SV training ground as early as the age of four to five, together with Aischa, a Labrador–German Shepherd mix.

At eleven I finally got my own dog, Sammy, a German Shepherd–Collie mix. Sadly he died at only one and a half years old of a shrunken kidney, so my dream of my first dog came to a sad end very quickly.

After that came a time when, during the holidays, I looked after and walked the dogs of many acquaintances and neighbours.

At 16 I finally had my own dog again – Simba, a German Shepherd–Border Collie mix, with whom I could take part in search-and-rescue training and whom I trained as an area search dog (Freiverweiser).

It was exactly then, in 2009, that I became a member of the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde (SV) e.V. and passed the companion dog test (BH) with traffic part and the dog-handler competence test (Sachkundeprüfung) with my four-legged friend.

In 2011 the time had finally come and I got my first purebred German Shepherd from working lines – BOSS von der Hohen Salzburg, a black long coat male! My love for IGP dog sport was ignited.

Unfortunately luck was not on my side with this dog either, and I had to let him cross the Rainbow Bridge at one and a half years old because he had an incurable brain tumour.

To bridge the difficult time that followed, I was allowed to train my mother's two dogs, the English Collie male „Lord Larry of Amarsis“ and the German Shepherd female Enya von der Bergstätte, and to handle them at trials.

My dream dog, the German Shepherd female „Arabella von den Schussengeistern“, moved in with me in 2019 and has enriched my passion for working dog sport ever since. Training with her and having her with me is a joy every single day – with her I can now get going in IGP! Together we completed the temperament test (Wesensbeurteilung), the companion dog test (including the traffic part), the endurance test, a show, IGP1 and 2 and finally the breed survey (Körung), so she now meets every requirement to be used in breeding and performance breeding in the Verein für Deutsche Schäferhunde.

I am proud to say that this wonderful female is the foundation dam of my German Shepherd kennel „Von der Vilstalperle“.
